As part of the Gandhi Jayanthi Week Celebration, an Environment Cleaning Programme was organised by Mahatma College of Education, Nileshwar, in collaboration with the IQAC and Natural Science. The programme was conducted on 5 October 2026 with the aim of creating awareness about environmental cleanliness and encouraging students to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean. All the students actively participated in the cleaning activity. The students gathered at the college bus stop and cleaned the surroundings along the route from the bus stop to the college. The students collected plastic waste, paper, leaves, and other litter found along the roadside. The collected waste was segregated and disposed of separately in appropriate waste containers, promoting proper waste management and environmental cleanliness. The activity provided the students with a practical experience of environmental responsibility and the importance of maintaining clean public spaces. It also promoted teamwork, cooperation, social responsibility and respect for nature among the students. The programme was successfully completed with the enthusiastic participation of all students. The activity reflected the Gandhian message that cleanliness is an essential part of a healthy and responsible society.
