REPORT ON DE -ADDICTION CAMPAIGN INAUGURATION

The inauguration of the NMBA and Mission Spandan National De-Addiction Campaign was successfully held on 03/03/2026 at 10 am in Mahatma College of Education Nileshwar. This initiative backed by the Government of India aims to spread awareness and provide a framework for substance abuse prevention among youths. The event followed a structured schedule co-ordinated by the student representative Sri. Avinash Vijayan. The event commenced with a prayer led by the students of Mahatma College of Education Nileshwar.
Sri. Sreekuttan M V, Convenor of the Anti-Drugs Cell, Mahatma College of Education Nileshwar delivered the welcome speech, emphasizing the role of educational institutions in the fight against addiction.
Dr. K K Shanmughadas, Principal, Mahatma College of Education Nileshwar delivered the presidential address, followed by the formal inauguration by Sri. M D Rafi P P, Chairman of the Muncipal Council, Nileshwaram.
Dr. Valsalan Nair from the BK Medical Wing HQ, Mount.Abu provided a subject matter expert address, focusing on the medical and psychological aspects of recovery. Dr. P C Balakrishnan, President, Mahatma Educational Society offered greetings and solidarity speeches. A De- Addiction Pledge was administered by B K Prathibha Behn, Sr. Faculty, NMBA, Mount Abu committing the audience to a drug- free style. After a vote of thanks by the student representative Kumari. Devika K, the campaign was officially set in motion with the flag -off of the campaign vehicle by Sri. Subhash E K, Sub-Inspector of Police, Nileshwaram PS.
The event successfully mobilized local authorities, medical experts and the student body. The deployment of the dedicated campaign vehicle marks the beginning of an intensive outreach phase for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan among the youth.
