Report on College Union election 2025–26
Mahatma College of Education, Nileshwar
The College Union Election for the academic year 2025-26 was conducted on 21st August 2025 with great enthusiasm and democratic spirit. The election process was organized to ensure a fair and transparent selection of student representatives.
The proceedings began at 9:30 AM under the supervision of the Returning Officer, Dr. Shanmugha Das. The college auditorium and designated classrooms were converted into polling booths. To maintain order, students were requested to present their valid Identity Cards before casting their votes via secret ballot. A high level of participation was witnessed, with students queuing up early to exercise their right to vote. The atmosphere remained peaceful and disciplined throughout the day, supported by the faculty members and the student grievance cell.
The polling concluded at 1:30 PM, followed by a short break. The counting of votes commenced at 2:30 PM in the presence of the candidates and their authorized agents. The process was conducted with utmost precision to ensure accuracy.
By 3:30 PM, the results were officially declared by the Principal, Dr. Remya V R. The following students were elected to the key positions of the College Union:

Following the announcement, the Principal congratulated the winners and appreciated all the candidates for their mature conduct during the campaign and election day. She emphasized that the Union serves as a bridge between the students and the administration.
The day ended on a celebratory note as students congratulated their new leaders. This election marked a significant step in fostering leadership and democratic values among the future teachers of our institution.
Report on College Union Oath Taking Ceremony 2025–26
Mahatma College of Education, Nileshwar
The College Union Oath Taking Ceremony for the year 2025–26 was held on 10th September 2025 at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium of Mahatma College of Education, Nileshwar. The programme was conducted in a very meaningful and joyful atmosphere.
The function started with a welcome speech by Dr. Shanmugha Das, the Returning Officer of the College Union Election. In his speech, he congratulated the newly elected union members and appreciated the students for conducting the election in a fair and peaceful manner. He reminded the members that leadership means serving others with honesty and responsibility.
The main part of the programme was the oath taking ceremony. The newly elected College Union members took the oath sincerely, promising to work for the welfare of the students and the development of the college. It was a proud and emotional moment for everyone present.
Dr. Remya V R, the Principal, delivered the Principal’s address. She congratulated the union members and encouraged them to work together with unity and dedication. She also said that the college will always support positive and creative activities organized by the union.
The Chairman of the College Union, Abhay J Prakash, also addressed the gathering. He thanked the students and teachers for their support and promised to work hard for the betterment of the college.
Felicitations were given by Sri. Krishnan Thekkinayil, Staff Advisor, and Smt. Sonia Thomas, Staff Secretary. They shared their good wishes and motivated the union members to carry out their duties sincerely.
The programme ended successfully with happiness and hope. The Oath Taking Ceremony was a memorable event that marked the beginning of new responsibilities for the College Union 2025–26.
