Gen Z Voters awareness Programme-2026

Mahatma College of Education, Nileshwar, in collaboration with the IQAC and the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC), organized a Gen Z Voter Awareness Programme on 23 March 2026 in accordance with the guidelines of the District Election Authorities and SWEEP.The programme was organized prior to the State Assembly Election, April 2026.

As part of the programme, aflash mob was organized and performed at 2:30 p.m. in the General Hall of the college. The flash mob was directed byAswathi, General Secretary of the Electoral Literacy Club, along with other college union members. They practiced the performance using the music provided by theChief Electoral Officer (CEO), Kerala.

The programme aimed to create awareness among Gen Z and new voters about their voting rights and responsibilities. Voting is a fundamental duty that sustains the very essence of democracy. By participating in elections, citizens exercise their power to shape the future of the nation. The importance of voting in India cannot be underestimated, as it upholds the principles of representation and accountability in a democratic society.

The programme commenced with a welcome speech by Ms. Aswathi, Secretary of the Electoral Literacy Club, Mahatma College of Education, Nileshwar. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Shamugh Das, Principal of the college, who delivered the inaugural address.

The outdoor version of the flash mob was also recorded and shared on social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram, where it received appreciation and positive responses from many viewers. The Intagram link is given below.
