The premarital counselling session, titled “Premarital Counselling Session”was organized by the Women Cell of Mahatma College of Education on 17th January 2025. The session was designed to provide guidance and support to first-year students on the importance of considering various aspects before entering into marriage. The programme was attended by a significant number of students, who were eager to learn about the essential things to be considered before marriage.The session commenced with a warm welcome by the Women Cell members, who introduced the resource person, Smt. Anima K V, a renowned Psycho Social Counsellor from ICDS Nileshwar. Smt. Anima K V has extensive experience in counselling and has worked with numerous individuals and couples, providing them with guidance and support on various aspects of relationships and marriage.The resource person began the session by emphasizing the importance of premarital counselling, highlighting the need for couples to understand each other’s values, beliefs, and expectations before entering into marriage. She discussed various aspects of marriage, including communication, conflict resolution, financial management, and intimacy, and provided valuable insights and tips on how to build a strong and healthy relationship.

             The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the discussion and asking questions. Smt. Anima K V addressed the queries and concerns of the students, providing them with personalized guidance and support. The students were also encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences, creating a safe and supportive environment for open discussion.One of the students, Anju from the Natural Science department, commented that the discussion was “good” and that she had gained valuable insights into the importance of premarital counselling.
