ANNUAL SPORTS MEET REPORT-
VICTORY LAP 2K26
The much awaited Annual Sports Meet 2026, titled victory Lap 2K26, was successfully held on January 09, 2026 (Friday), at Mahatma college of Education, Nileshwar. The event was organized collaboratively by the IQAC and Rithwa college union, embodying the true essence of teamwork and coordination.
The event aimed to promote physical fitness, camaraderie, and a competitive spirit among students and faculty. It also served as a platform to honor an celebrate athletic talents while encouraging participation in extracurricular activities.
Event Highlights
Inauguration Ceremony
The program began at 9.00 AM with a grand march- past by the students representing the four houses:Blue,Green,Red,Yellow. Following the flag hoisting at 9.15 AM, the program was formally inaugurated by Mr.Sunil Kumar E V , Physical Education Teacher at GHSS Chayoth.
The welcome address by Muhammed Minhaj (UUC) and the Presidential Address by Dr.Shanmukhadas , The principal In Charge of Mahatma College Of Education ,
set the tone for the day. The esteemed Chief Guest,Dr. P C Balakrishnan, President of Mahatma Education Society, commended the organizers and shared his vision for fostering athletic excellence. The event also featured felicitation speeches by Dr Suresh Kokkot, IQAC Coordinator Mahatma College of Education,appreciated the participant’s dedication and emphasized the value of teamwork.Soniya Thomas, Staff Secretary Mahatma College of Education, The speech highlighted the importance of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a healthy competitive spirit among students. Ramya Mohanan, Physical Education Teacher Mahatma College of Education,encouraged students to actively participate in sports as a means to enhance both mental and physical well being.The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Harinand K, the General Captain, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all contributors and participants.
Competition and Events
The day was packed with a wide array of athletic events, including :
• Track events like 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m,3000m,5000m and relay races,
which saw intense competition.
• Field events such as long jump, high jump, shot put, javeline throw and
discuss throw, where students displayed their strength and skill.
The inter house competition was fierce and engaging. The winners of various events were felicitated with medals and certificates during the prize distribution ceremony. The effort and sportsmanship of all participants were acknowledged and celebrated. The houses competed in a variety of track and field events with great enthusiasm. The final results were:
1. Green House: Overall champions
2. Red House: Runners Up
The efforts and sportsmanship of all participants made the event tuly
remarkable.

• Best Men Athlete: Abhishek P, Natural Science (Yellow House)
Both athletes displayed exceptional skill and dedication, earning well-deserved accolades for their houses.
