“Pages of Inspiration: Reading Week Day 2 – A Tribute to P. N. Panicker”
Mahatma College of Education, in collaboration with IQAC and the English Club, observed the second day of Reading Week as a tribute to the great literacy pioneer P. N. Panicker, popularly known as the Father of the Library Movement in Kerala.The programme began with the formal inauguration of the Reading Week celebration on 22nd June at 10 a.m in the general hall.
As part of the event, Ms.Saira Banu, Student Teacher, donated a book to the college library. The book was presented to the Principal, highlighting the importance of developing a reading culture among students.
A video presentation on the life and contributions of P. N. Panicker was presented by Ms. Gopika. The video highlighted his efforts in promoting libraries, literacy, and the habit of reading among people.Before the video presentation,Ms.Krishna priya delivered an introduction, explaining the significance of P. N. Panicker’s contributions and the relevance of Reading Week celebrations.
